Preparations Under Way For Yud Shvat
Reports
are in about the special projects, mivtzaim, and programs being
prepared and undertaken for Yud Shvat. Mosdos Chabad around the
world have been explaining the significance of the upcoming date to
their students. The Tmimim in 770 arranged a learing project for all yeshivos,
dividing all of the Rebbe’s Torah among all Tmimim. They have
also been preparing pilpulim for the special Kovetz Pilpulim
for the Fiftieth Year.
The
evening sichos learning, taking place after sedarim, has
intensified. Each evening one can hear a recorded sicha of the
Rebbe being played as the Tmimim listen closely. Written material has
also been prepared to help everyone follow along.
Probably
the most exciting Yud Shvat mivtza is the Mitzva tank
parade, which will take place, G-d willing, on Yud Shvat at 11:00 a.m.
It will leave 770 for Manhattan, bringing the besuras ha’Geula
to several thousands. Rabbi Shmuel Butman of Tzach expects this to be
covered widely by the media. The event is sure to be a kiddush sheim
Shamayim, sheim ha’Rebbe, and the Lubavitch
movement.
Crown
Heights residents are preparing to host the many guests from around the
world who will come to 770 for this special day. Hundreds of Tmimim the
world over have been granted permission from their yeshivos to
attend, as well.
The
main farbrengen will take place on Monday evening, and is being
arranged by the gabbaim of the shul and the Matte
ha’Olami L’Havo’as ha’Moshiach. The preparations for the farbrengen
are being made with hope and faith that we will merit to hear Torah from
the Rebbe Melech Ha’Moshiach himself. Chassidim, shluchim,
Tmimim, guests and, of course, Crown Heights residents, will be
in attendance.
In
Eretz Yisroel, aside from hundreds of farbrengens which
will take place in Chabad centers around the country, the official event
will take place in Yad Eliyahu in Tel Aviv under the auspices of Merkaz
Tzeirei Agudas Chabad of Eretz Yisroel.
The
outstanding event no doubt will be the unique mivtza hiskashrus
called “Writing Melech HaMoshiach and Asking for a Bracha,” which
will be introduced to dozens of cities and towns around the country on
Yud Shvat.
Decorated
stands will be set up in centrally located areas, manned by people who
will distribute a beautiful brochure to passersby in honor of Yud Shvat,
as well as a brochure relating amazing miracle stories of the Igros
Kodesh. About a quarter of a million of these brochures will be
distributed. Instructions will be sent to activists in each location, in
order to ensure the smooth running of this mivtza.
Mivtza
Tefillin will
be encouraged as usual, and passersby will be asked to sign for kabalas
ha’malchus and encouraged to make a good resolution.
May
we merit to see the Rebbe even now as we are in the midst of our
preparations, v’hu yigaleinu.
